October 10th, 2017 – AEuCC President, Stefano Collina, and Giuseppe Olmeti, General Secretary and Projects Director, met in Brussels the Members of European Parliament Mr. Damiano Zoffoli, Mr. Nicola Danti and Ms. Isabella De Monte, discussing with them the current issues and future actions of development of the EGTC “Cities of Ceramics”, focusing in particular on a promotional event at the heart of European Parliament itself.

Also, they visited the Offices of Emilia-Romagna Region in Brussels, meeting the Vice Director, Ms. Maria Cristina Cremaschi (the Director excused), discussing the possibility of starting a cooperation on European Programmes (such as “Creative Europe”, “Italy-Croatia” and “Cosme”). Also, Ms. Cremaschi offered the availability of the Offices in Brussels to realize future promotional and institutional events of AEuCC.
This intense “European immersion” day terminated with an important meeting at the European Parliament, organized by CNA (Italian National Confederation of Craft and Small and Medium Enterprises), represented by Mr. Andrea Santolini, Ms. Elisa Vitella and Mr. Gabriele Rotini, with the Members of Parliament Mr. Nicola Danti and Ms. Virginie Rozière the DG Growth of the European Commission to support the proposal of the European Parliament for the European Commission to approve a new Regulation regarding non-agricultural GI (Geographical Indications).
AEuCC representatives presented, in the name of Italian Ceramics and together with other representatives of diverse high quality craft production (London’s haute couture, Spanish leather, French cutlery) the urgent need of a Regulation to protect and enhance the non-agricultural GI productions at the European level.
