The Czech Association of Cities of Ceramics became an official member of AEuCC

ass4Following the collaboration and promotion actions carried out by the Associations of the Cities of Ceramics in Europe and of the original members of AEuCC, following the initiative started by the city of kunstat, the Czech association was funded. It consists of 3 cities: Kunštát (www.kunstat-mesto.cz/), Dubí (www.mesto-dubi.cz) and Levín (www.mestyslevin.cz).

The Czech Asociation of Cities of Ceramics – AczCC was founded on 25 August 2016 in Kunštát with the participation of the mayors of the three founding municipalities.

Kunštát, as the initiator of the founding of the association, became the presiding city. It has a long tradition of pottery which began soon after the establishment of the city. A potters guild was set up in 1620, joining together ten local potters. The craft reached its peak in the 19th century. Pottery fairs are held in the town since 1993.

Dubí is important is the field of Czech porcelain, where is produced the world-famous “Cibulak”.

The reason for the founding of the Czech Association was the effort to raise the profile of important ceramic centers with a long-standing tradition in the domestic and European context. We believe that cooperation and exchange of experience with municipalities with a similar history will bring results in the form of raising awareness of ceramics and sites associated with its production.

AczCC includes municipalities associated with traditional and contemporary ceramic creation. Its mission is to develop territorial and international cooperation in the field of ceramic arts and crafts.

During the AEuCC assembly of Manises (Spain), held in November 2019, the request of AczCC to enter into AEuCC was officially sanctioned.

The president of AczCC, Nikola Seko, and the president of AEuCC, Stefano Collina, took the opportunity to greet and wish a fruitful collaboration.
